Chef's Restaurant The sign has a reassuring, tranquil feel to it... It's actually right there, just across the little street from the old church. The inn, which is just as much a part of Trégastel's heritage, has been rejuvenated with the arrival of three partners: Aurélie and a duo of cooks, Brieg and Maxime. While the veranda room is of course the brightest, the back room is not lacking in charm, with its exposed stone or plain white walls, light-colored floor, beams, fireplace, aquarium and a few driftwood objects... A touching simplicity that doesn't exclude comfort. You'll feel right at home. It's the perfect place to enjoy a cuisine that changes at a steady pace, inspired by the market. Uncompromising about the quality of their suppliers, who are often local or regional, Brieg and Maxime offer dishes that look good, feel good and delight. Take their calf's head cromesquis, golden brown to perfection, to which the zest of a mustard condiment and the freshness of fine white and green asparagus respond appropriately. The whiting, not angry in the least, happily invites itself to the table, escorted by Jerusalem artichokes in various textures, boosted by the delicate bitterness of a brown beer. This is followed by an equally successful dessert: a hymn to Costa Rican barley in a variety of forms: shortcrust pastry, soufflé, cream, ice cream... If the pace of the meal is not the most sustained, the service is very precise and friendly. As for the cellar, it remains relatively modest, but coherent with labels that hold up well: quincy from domaine Mardon, montlouis la Taille aux Loups, muscadet from Hautes-Noëlles, pic saint loup from château Lascaux, saint-joseph from domaine Tardieu-Laurent...
