Chef de service : 1 restaurant A child of Plouider, Solène Conraux and her husband Nicolas continue to run the family inn founded by her grandmother. La Butte, part gastro, part bistro and part hotel, is one of Brittany's most endearing establishments.Presentation
Solène Conraux is a child of the village, of this small commune of Plouider where her grandmother ran a boarding house, which today has become La Butte, one of Brittany's finest restaurants. " I grew up among the customers, alongside my father who had taken over the business. I've always loved this place, this atmosphere, and even though I got a general baccalaureate, I still went to hotel school. I didn't have an excellent academic record, so I ended up in Strasbourg ".
A meeting in Alsace and a return to Plouider
It was in Alsace that Solène met Nicolas Conraux, her future husband, who at the time was destined to become a waiter rather than a cook. With their diplomas in hand, the two young men returned to Plouider and worked in the dining room at La Butte until Nicolas took over the kitchen in 2007, when the couple became owners of the property.
A house in perpetual evolution
Little by little, the house is being renovated and transformed: a major renovation campaign in 2012, with the creation of a wellness area and heated swimming pool, followed by the opening of a bistro in 2016. Ecological awareness now guides every decision. "Over the years, we've become aware of the impact that a business like ours can have. In 2025, we even did away with our swimming pool, even though not all our customers were necessarily delighted. "
Navigating between the two restaurants and the hotel business, Solène Conrauxis the linchpin of this establishment, where guests are welcomed as if they were friends. She is a gentle and efficient restaurant manager, supported by a committed team and an outstanding sommelier.
