Noémie MEYER
An Alsatian estate ventures into Champagne, in Vertus: this is the "funny" story of Champagne Sainte-Joie, run by Noémie Meyer Ferré, in charge of sales and communications, and her husband Gilles Meyer, in charge of production. Her first career spanned a decade in the world of law, but Noémie Meyer-Ferré's passion for wine soon caught up with her. After meeting her husband Gilles, a winemaker in Saint-Hippolyte, Alsace, she even decided to make it her profession and joined the domaine of her in-laws, " great lovers of the land and nature ", describes Noémie. There, they produce still wines from Alsatian grape varieties, as well as crémant: " We love bubbles, which is why we decided to set foot in Champagne, the star appellation. What ' s more, Crémant d'Alsace and Champagne use the same winemaking methods," explains Noémie, who, like her husband, is driven by a healthy sense of ambition. So they acquired a plot in the Côte des Blancs, in Vertus, planted with chardonnay and a little pinot noir. They produced 3,000 bottles of a very complete champagne which, with its elegance, finesse and uprightness, adds a chiselled aromatic expression, remarkable intensity and persistence.
