With his wife Véronique, an experienced sommelier, Jean-Paul Abadie has transformed a simple bar into one of France's finest restaurants.Jean-Paul Abadie has the looks of a leading man from the 50s, who would have played a few years of rugby in his youth, and a gentle voice that says he's got his heart on his sleeve. He's a Bigourdan (born in Lannemezan, in the Hautes-Pyrénées) who blossomed in Brittany, in this Brittany of Armor and Argoat with which he fell in love .

In 1985, with his wife Véronique, an outstanding sommelier who sadly passed away too soon, he took over the La Flambée bar on the outskirts of Lorient, opposite a Décathlon store. There, in this unexpected environment, the couple went on to build one of France's finest tables, starting out in the early years by serving only simple meals.es by serving only simple meals for the workers, before climbing the ladder to the title of Cook of the Year and 19/20 in our 2004 edition.

The Amphitryon adventure came to an end at the end of 2017, when Jean-Paul Abadie chose to hand over his restaurant and take some time for himself. Nonetheless, he remains one of the tutelary figures of Breton gastronomy, with whom so many young chefs have learned the trade from an ever benevolent man .
