Aymeric DE GIRONDE
Director of Château Troplong Mondot since 2017, Aymeric de Gironde has vines in his blood. Born into a seven-generation family of cognac growers and distillers, he grew up surrounded by vineyards. It was therefore difficult for him to escape his destiny and not pursue a profession linked to this world.
So it was only natural that, after studying at the Bordeaux Business School, he began his career with the Hennessy cognac house. He began his career on the American market, notably in New York as head of distribution. In 2006, he moved to Bordeaux's left bank, the Médoc, as international sales and marketing manager for all AXA Millésimes vineyards. He spent six rewarding years there before taking over the management of Château Cos d'Estournel, second grand cru classé 1855, in Saint-Estèphe. In 2017, he realized his dream by seizing the opportunity to become Chairman and CEO of Troplong Mondot, which he had once told his wife he would run. As one dream leads to another, Aymeric de Gironde's ambition is now to take this château to the very top of the Saint-Émilion classification, by bringing it into the very closed circle of the first "A" classified grands crus.
