Salive: gourmet walks that reinvent the way to discover Paris

Salive: gourmet walks that reinvent the way to discover Paris

In Paris, Salive offers a new way to discover the city. Instead of a guided food tour, it's a self-guided stroll to stroll and taste, following an itinerary suggested on a beautifully drawn map.

Behind Salive are Lola Zerbib and Natacha Sporer, the duo behind Studio Ravages (a food design agency). Their idea: transform urban strolls into culinary explorations, with no guides or time constraints, simply an illustrated map in a starter kit. The principle is deliberately simple: walk, stop, taste, repeat - always at your own pace and with the people of your choice. No group tours, just stroll at your own pace.

Two new tours added to the six already on offer

The first is for children, in the heart of the Charonne Village: a stroll specially designed to awaken the curiosity and palate of the little ones (and the grown-ups, who are always a bit childlike). The second, "La Grande Descente de Ménilmontant", winds through the steep streets of the 20ᵉ arrondissement for a gourmet immersion in a neighborhood as lively as it is contrasting.it's worth noting that Salive makes sure to offer a vegetarian alternative at every stop, and that one of the routes, "Le Sentier Végétal", takes the exercise even further with an entirely vegan and gluten-free itinerary.

Each itinerary comprises five stages, with generous portions - four savoury and one sweet in most cases. Salive also advises you to bring a tote bag, so you can keep some food for later, if you're full before the end. As for equipment, comfortable shoes, a charged telephone, weather-appropriate clothing and, ideally, a water bottle.
