The Best Caviste de France competition opens its entries for the 2026 edition

A benchmark for the profession for over ten years, the Concours du Meilleur Caviste de France is officially launching its 2026 edition. Entries are open until March 31.

Registration for the Concours du Meilleur Caviste de France 2026 is now open! You have until March 31, 2026 to send in your application and try your luck.

The 2026 edition will be based on a multi-stage selection process. An initial pre-selection phase will take place in May, via an online questionnaire designed to assess candidates' knowledge, professional culture and analytical skills.

at the end of this stage, forty cavistes will be selected to take part in the final tests, scheduled for October 2026. These tests will focus on the key skills of the trade: tasting, customer advice, management and understanding consumer expectations.held every two years, this benchmark event is open exclusively to wine merchants who are members of the Syndicat des Cavistes Professionnels (SCP), and aims to recognize the excellence of the trade within the wine and spirits industry.

Created in 2014, the competition has gradually established itself as a highlight for the profession. It highlights the central role of the wine merchant, who is at once a wine and spirits selector, an ambassador for producers and a privileged advisor to consumers. the competition showcases the full range of expertise in the specialized trade.

A competition supported by the entire industry

Supported by the SCP and organized by Cavistes & Co, the competition is part of a collective effort to gain recognition for the profession. The title of Meilleur Caviste de France is now widely recognized by the profession and the market.
