These young people who mueslize breakfasts
Gone are the days of Frosties and Chocapic, replaced by gourmet mueslis for breakfast. A way to start the day with healthy foods, without forgetting to indulge.
Breakfast is often sacrificed for lunch and especially dinner. This may be due to a lack of time or simply a lack of hunger. It has to be said that the classic breakfast is often based on the triptych cereal, toast and jam. Not very original.
To remedy this, a group of muesli fanatics have embarked on the adventure of gourmet muesli, creating artisanal recipes based on crazy, top-tasting products!
Dear Muesli
Dear Muesli is the story of Sylvain, Dikom and Bakang, three boys whose mother made her own mueslis for breakfast. So it was only natural that they should found their own brand, and today they arethe self-proclaimed muesliboys. They've even created the world's first rolling muesli bar, and pick up their freshly pressed muesli in the early hours of the morning!
Dear Muesli is available at Épicerie Générale (Paris 6 and Paris 9), Juice Lab Marais (Paris 3), Garde Manger (Paris 9) or La Grande Épicerie, which offers an exclusive recipe TitiParisien (Paris 7). Approx. €12 per 500g. dearmuesli.com
Kokoji
Others are surfing the locavorism wave to make mueslis with ingredients from small French producers. Like Kokoji, founded by Carine, an agronomy engineer, and Antoine, a graduate of Science Po, a couple sensitive to sustainable development. Their mueslis are prepared from carefully selected, unrefined products, processed using gentle methods that do not alter their nutritional qualities... PDO walnuts from Périgord, for example ,or apples picked in an organic orchard in Lot-et-Garonne. In fact, it's in this part of France that they've set up their friendly little business.
