5 must-visit addresses near Nice's Promenade des Anglais
Facing the Bay of Angels, Nice's Promenade des Anglais is one of the most famous and beautiful avenues in the world. And what if, after strolling along the seafront, you stopped off at a gourmet restaurant?
Strolling along the coast wasn't always possible in Nice. The Promenade des Anglais was the world's first construction in this style. In 1824, it was named "strada del littorale" (Italian for "coastal road"). At the time, the Bay of Angels was the winter rendezvous of wealthy Britons. Twenty years later, the construction was officially named the "Promenade des Anglais", making it a leisure spot between the city and the Mediterranean Sea.
Today, many locals and tourists alike enjoy a stroll along the coast, followed by a meal a few meters from the water or in old Nice. Discover our selection of addresses for lunch or dinner near the Promenade des Anglais.
