Gault&Millau's review 2025

In the village of Oletta, near Saint-Florent and the Agriates desert, this former 17th-century palace clinging to the mountain offers just 9 suites, all exquisitely appointed. Antique furniture, designer pieces and oak parquet floors stand side by side with contemporary works of art (Anish Kapoor, Paul de Pignol or Daniel Arsham) from the collection of the owner, the nephew of writer Roland Barthes. The hotel also boasts a beautiful 20 m-long swimming pool surrounded by deckchairs, fantastic terraced gardens and a restaurant, U Palazzu, offering a fantastic range of local and seasonal recipes designed by Domenico Nicolino. A still-secret paradise, a must-see.
