Gault&Millau's review 2026

Just a stone's throw from the Opéra Garnier and Paris's department stores, Accor's Scribe Opéra is a must-visit hotel on the Right Bank. Open since 1863, it is a temple to art and fashion in Paris. In 1895, the Sofitel le Scribe Paris Opéra hosted the very first screening of the Lumière brothers. After two years of renovation, the hotel reopened its doors in 2021 with a new interior design by Tristan Auer, a regular at Parisian luxury hotels. The 201 rooms and suites plunge visitors into a warm, modern atmosphere, where every detail recalls the history of the place and the district, with nods to the Palais Garnier or the luxury stores that surround the establishment. In terms of gastronomy, the hotel boasts the Rivages restaurant (1 toque), where guests can enjoy the creative, Mediterranean-inspired cuisine of chef Martin Simolka, as well as the Scribe & Cie. Café, where you can enjoy the Parisian ambience from breakfast to afternoon tea.
