Gault&Millau's review 2025

Designed by architect Thomas Vidalenc and located just a stone’s throw from the Champs-Élysées, the Norman Paris Hotel & Spa pays tribute to Norman Ives, an American painter and graphic designer active in the 1950s and 1960s. This intimate boutique hotel (with 37 spacious rooms and suites) is designed like a connoisseur’s residence: rosewood headboards, leather armchairs, marble mosaics in the bathrooms, natural wool curtains, and geometric rugs. The Terrace Suite features its own terrace facing the Eiffel Tower, while the Sky Suite—spanning two levels and boasting two balconies—is ideal for families. The cozy lounge bar, complete with a fireplace, vintage sofas, and a collection of art books, invites guests to relax and socialize. The cuisine is helmed by Chef Apiradee Thirakomen—“ Thiou” — a pioneer of Thai cuisine in Paris since opening her original restaurant in the 7th arrondissement in 2000. At the Thiou restaurant, she creates elegantly refined semi-gourmet Franco-Thai dishes: langoustine spring rolls, shrimp ravioli, Thai-style sauerkraut, and the famous “Crying Tiger.” In the basement, the Omnisens Spa offers naturopathic treatments, a plunge pool, and a sauna.
