A piece of Parisian history. Molitor was the capital’s most popular swimming pool for sixty years, having been inaugurated in 1929 by Johnny Weissmuller—Tarzan on screen and an Olympic swimming champion. Closed in 1989, this unique venue was designated a historic monument in 1990 before being left to fall into disrepair, eventually becoming a canvas for Parisian graffiti artists. It wasn’t until 2014 that the site was brought back to life, restored with the utmost respect for its Art Deco architecture. Behind its iconic yellow facades now stands a 5-star hotel in the 16th arrondissement, featuring a sumptuous 1,300-square-meter spa by Clarins, a panoramic summer rooftop terrace, a restaurant, and, of course, those famous pools now reserved for hotel guests: an indoor winter pool and a 44-meter outdoor summer pool heated year-round, surrounded by 124 rooms and suites (including 7 suites) featuring a minimalist, designer aesthetic by Jean-Philippe Nuel. With an old-world, luxurious atmosphere reminiscent of a grand ocean liner, Molitor is the ideal place to recharge in the capital.
