For the eighth address in their ultra-chic Fontenille Collection, Frédéric Biousse and Guillaume Foucher have taken up residence on the Ile d'Yeu, breathing new life into the former Le Caillou Blanc hotel, set against the town of Port-Joinville. The 25 rooms and suites alone give the place the charm of an ideal family home, largely inspired by the ocean (Pierre Frey fabrics, light wood furniture, whale statuette, ropes...), most extended by a private terrace overlooking the heated pool, wooden deckchairs and Ker Chalon beach in the background. This ode to the maritime world continues in the Vent Debout restaurant, where chef Christophe Vauthier makes the most of local produce. A must-see, unless you prefer to head off to the Bar de la Meule, the hotel's delightful annex hidden away in a small fishing port on the south side of the island. An ideal after-beach rendezvous for a glass of wine or dinner overlooking the sea..
