Bidart, a commune wedged between Biarritz and Saint-Jean-de-Luz, has long remained in the shadow of its neighbors. The Uhabia beach, below the cliff, is nevertheless one of the most popular with surfers in the Basque country - and one of the most photogenic on the coast. La Frégate, perched on this promontory with a direct view of the Atlantic, has been renovated by the Miléade group in a minimalist spirit that favors transparency towards the ocean rather than decorative accumulation. All 28 rooms have a terrace or balcony. On the first floor, the panoramic restaurant makes loving use of fish from the Saint-Jean-de-Luz fish market.
