Gault&Millau's review 2025

One of the region's most seductive addresses, both guest house and artists' residence! Designed by Lionel Bensemoun (creator of Le Baron, in Paris, and La Villa Lena, in Tuscany), La Folie Barbizon is home to just a dozen rooms and suites, decorated by Alix Thomsen, who has combined antique furniture and muted tones, not to mention a number of soon-to-be-inaugurated apartments. Guests come here to recharge their batteries a stone's throw from the forest, but also to take advantage of the many activities on offer on site: ceramics workshop, conferences on ecology, exhibition by artists in residence... Of course, there's no question of missing out on the delights of the "plant-based, organic, local and convivial" cuisine, concocted in turn by one of the guest chefs.
