Gault&Millau's review 2025

In the heart of the Venice of Périgord, this ivy-covered mill is one of the most beautiful sites in the Dordogne. Situated on the banks of the river, it offers a unique view of the monuments of the town of Brantôme: the bent bridge (a 16th-century masterpiece), the monks' garden and the famous abbey, founded in 769 by Charlemagne. Now a Relais & Châteaux member, the lovingly restored mill is built around three historic buildings housing 20 warm, contemporary rooms. The cuisine, helmed by the talented Frédéric Murati, is a delight for local gourmets, and the two Périgord bistros are the perfect complement to this magical address.
