Corsicans (the real ones) still have in mind Le Caribou, the historic hotel opened in the 1950s, which was one of the Cape's great landmarks, with a number of prestigious guests, including Romy Schneider, Alain Delon and Serge Gainsbourg. Abandoned for many years, the place has fortunately come back to life thanks to a local boy, Sylvain Giudicelli, who teamed up with Reza Zographos in 2016 to reenchant these 22 hectares of scrubland with, right in the middle, an eco-friendly boutique-hotel. Totally integrated into its surroundings, it houses 29 rooms and suites and 7 villas boasting subtle luxury with natural materials, designer nuggets and palatial bedding made on the island. Other treasures include an outdoor swimming pool (not including those in the villas), a remarkable table led by chef Reine Sammut, a Gemology spa and, of course, a small private beach below. A member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World group, this is a rare address between heaven and earth.
