Gault&Millau's review 2025

Corsicans (the real ones) still have in mind the Caribou, the historic hotel opened in the 1950s, which was one of the Cape's great landmarks, with a number of prestigious guests including Romy Schneider, Alain Delon and Serge Gainsbourg. Abandoned for many years, the place has fortunately come back to life thanks to a local boy, Sylvain Giudicelli, who teamed up with Reza Zographos in 2016 to reenchant these 22 hectares of scrubland with, right in the middle, an eco-friendly boutique-hotel. Totally integrated into its surroundings, it houses 29 rooms and suites and 7 villas boasting subtle luxury with natural materials, designer nuggets and palatial bedding made on the island. Other treasures include an outdoor swimming pool (not counting those in the villas), the remarkable Tra Di Noi restaurant led by chef Thomas Brasleret, the Gemology spa and, of course, the small private beach below. A member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World group, this is a rare address between heaven and earth.
