Lovers of Versailles used to make a habit of the former Hôtel de France. Now part of the 2L collection (the Cinq Codet in Paris...), this establishment has been transformed into a five-star hotel that magnifies the former Hôtel de Villacerf and Hôtel de Gramont, built in the XVIIᵉ and classified as Historic Monuments. Entrusted to the care of architect Didier Benderli, the two buildings have been restored to their former splendor, with 31 rooms and suites decorated with antique parquet floors and Grand Siècle woodwork. Equally spectacular, the Bar des Philosophes and the restaurant La Table des Lumières reflect the same French art of living, as does the nugget on the premises - the Pierre Hermé café - inspired by the Hall of Mirrors, with its solid oak counter and tassel chandeliers. Featuring an elegant spa, this is the ideal prelude to discovering the splendors of the Château de Versailles, just a stone's throw away.
