Gault&Millau's review 2025

Lovers of the Périgord region swear by this address, where Alain Gardillou treats his guests to remarkably interpreted local cuisine. To extend their visit, many choose to put down their suitcases in this 17th-century oil mill on the banks of the Dronne, converted into a warm and refined hotel. Spread over three buildings, the 15 rooms and suites are linked by small walkways or secret staircases. All are decorated with period furniture and floral tapestries, 1950s-style bathrooms and, in some cases, delightful terraces overlooking the water. Everything here is designed for the pleasure and serenity of guests, who will also enjoy the tennis courts and swimming pool before setting off to discover the surrounding area: Brantôme, the frescoes in the Lascaux caves or the old town of Périgueux.
