Outstanding Hotel Ideal for exploring the green Venice, Le Central is owned by Hervine and Jean-Paul Guenanten, the third generation to run this beautiful house, to which they have given a new lease of life. Some of the 13 bedrooms have retained their stone walls and antique parquet flooring, but all boast contemporary comforts - bright tones, clean-lined furniture and spacious bathrooms. In the kitchen, you'll be delighted to discover three menus of tasty local recipes, all served on the large terrace as soon as the sun rises. The Marais Poitevin is one of Europe's most important wetlands, with 112,000 hectares of canals in the midst of a miraculously preserved natural environment, which you can explore on a "plate", one of the traditional flat-bottomed boats that glide through this immense cathedral of greenery.
