Gault&Millau's review2025
Ideally located between the Opera House and the Château des Ducs de Bretagne, this hotel is housed in one of the city's most interesting buildings, with its ultra-contemporary façade designed in 1993 by architects Barto + Barto and now listed as a 20th-century heritage site. Inside, 46 rooms and suites reflect this chic minimalist spirit, with raw materials, natural fabrics and sleek designer furniture. All this in a universe that here and there recalls the city's maritime past, such as the entrance footbridge, designed by the Atlantic shipyards, the anti-roll door handles or the quotations from "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea" half-hidden in the stone of the hotel walls... A special mention must go to the delicious breakfasts concocted from local produce and the bar where after-work drinkers gather to enjoy gins and high-flying vodkas.
