Exceptional Hotel In the heart of the village, but just a stone's throw from the world's largest ski area, this family-run hotel, a member of the Relais & Châteaux collection, has a charm and authenticity that delights a growing number of loyal guests every year. This is the home of René Meilleur, who built the chalet in the 1970s with his brother, a cabinetmaker, and has been embellishing it ever since. The 15 rooms and suites, all with balconies and terraces, are named after the women in the family (Léa, Augustine) and exude a warm, cosy comfort, with their Savoyard furniture and huge beds covered in fur plaids. On the first floor, the spa offers the delights of its outdoor Jacuzzi to enjoy the view of the mountains, a small swimming pool and a treatment area with a range of original treatments, such as this hay steam bath. Rejuvenated, all that's left to do is head to the dining room to enjoy the cuisine of Meilleur, father and son.
