Exceptional Hotel In Basque, "ostapé" means "in the shade of oak leaves". A poetic name that reflects the image of this beautiful inn, built in 1665 and surrounded by a 45-hectare estate planted with forests and meadows, with the bluish silhouette of the mountains as a backdrop. Nestled in 5 traditional Basque houses, the 22 suites conceal a warm, refined luxury with their fireplaces and antique furniture, all opening onto this bucolic landscape. After a few laps in the 26°C heated swimming pool, you can join the hammam, sauna or fitness room, before sampling the delights of local gastronomy prepared by new chef John Argaud, who has also worked in the kitchens of the Isabal family at the Hôtel Ithurria. A place of timeless charm, an ode to the miraculously unspoilt nature of the inland Basque country, to be discovered along the hiking trails starting from the village of Bidarray.
