Gault&Millau's review 2025

In Provencal, "gaogaia" means to rest, to bask... Just 10 minutes from the center of Aix-en-Provence, this 18th-century bastide lives up to that promise. Owned by the Roy family (father and son) since 2020, it has rediscovered all its charms thanks to the talent of Marseille architect Delphine Sauvaget, who has dressed the 18 rooms in beautiful drapes and clean-lined furniture. All open onto a park shaded by tall pine trees and featuring a beautiful swimming pool with parasols and deckchairs, ideal for lounging. The Gaodina restaurant, led by chef Naïm Chhiba, offers Provençal-inspired cuisine and 100% organic and local produce, a testament to the eco-responsible spirit of the place, which favours Provençal producers and craftsmen.
