Just a stone's throw from Chablis, this property is shaking up the local hotel scene, which, while certainly high-quality, remains very traditional. A member of the Design Hotels collection, the Château de la Resle was conceived by its owners, Johan Bouman and Pieter Franssens, as a collector’s home, where the decor evolves with their acquisitions—contemporary art and furniture purchased at auctions or from local antique dealers. The result is a clever blend of classicism and modernity that permeates the 10 rooms and suites nestled within the château, as well as the three retreats in the outbuildings. Designed in an equally chic and rustic spirit, the Art de la Table restaurant invites guests every summer evening to savor a largely plant-based cuisine that once again celebrates local flavors (delicious Crisenon trout, gougères to die for). Finally, note the heated outdoor pool for swimming laps and bike rentals to explore the surrounding trails and vineyards.
