Pastry Although the House of Pariès radiates throughout the Basque Country and beyond, it was in Bayonne that the story began, when Jacques Damestoy became a chocolatier at Cazenave. Two generations later, Robert Pariès, Jacques' grandson, took over the stores, launching the famous "Mouchou" and, of course, the Basque cake, making them the two emblems of the company. Today, the fifth generation continues to develop and sell chocolates, Basque cakes, "Mouchou", "Kanouga" and other confectionery everywhere. There are now 7 stores in the Basque Country, one in Bordeaux and one in Paris.
