Bakery Patrice Monchaussé is a perfectionist. Set up in downtown Meaux, this elegant store suits his meticulousness, and customers are very grateful. His bread is carefully crafted, and time is of the essence in making good bread. Voted best baguette in Seine et Marne in 2001 and best croissant in 2005, he doesn't let it go to his head. The son of a baker, he recounts how he fell into flour as a child, no doubt a trigger for this incorrigible enthusiast.
