The main trend is towards discovery, with a number of little-known labels, some of which break away from their appellations to offer attractive "vins de France" at attractive prices, notably from the Loire, Rhône and Languedoc regions. And why not a chardonnay from the Loire Valley or a gewurztraminer from the Cévennes...? Also whiskies, eaux-de-vie, rum, calvados..
