Winemaker
Dany and Michel Rolland, famous oenologists, knew the Fronsac appellation well and wanted to make wine there. So, in 1986, they bought 9 ha in the commune of Saillans, in a magnificent setting on a south-facing slope: Château Fontenil was born. The vineyard is tended with as much care as a major Right Bank cru. In 2000, Dany and Michel Rolland tarpaulin-covered some of the vineyard plots to prevent rain penetration and create a Vin de France cuvée.
