Pastry
At the helm of two bakeries in Salon-de-Provence - Boulangerie Conte and Le Fournil de Salon - Stéphane Conte has many delicious surprises in store, both sweet and savoury. "Everything comes out of our laboratories, where we transform selected raw materials such as PDO Poitou Charente butter, fresh vanilla from Madagascar...", he assures us, surrounded by a team of thirty or so bakers and patissiers. Their breads are made from natural sourdough, their viennoiseries are homemade, as are their hot and cold sandwiches, pizzas, ready-to-eat dishes and more. This trained artisan baker, former quality manager and son of a pastry chef, combines quality and quantity in his two stores. "We offer well-balanced, low-sugar products," he stresses. A commitment to "good taste and good health" is also expressed in the pastry department, where the great classics rub shoulders with more sophisticated creations. A special mention goes to the macaroons for which the company is famous. The gourmets of Salon-de-Provence are in luck!
