Gault&Millau's review 2026

A fine achievement, combining the (very measured) vinousness of a 2012, 2013 and 2014 base with notes of honey, dates and curry, and the fine structure that adds substance. It's vibrant and greedy, while retaining its freshness (ribambelle of citrus fruits). We love the long finish of candied fruit. Try it with poularde, Asian cuisine or grilled prawns.

Max Cochut
Max Cochut
The Cochut family has been winegrowers since the 19th century. At the end of the First World War, Louis Cochut expanded his winegrowing activities and began marketing his own wine. In 1956, he acquired Château de Tauxières-Mutry with his son Max. Max created a brand under his own name in 1972, and in 1990 broke away from the cooperative and set up his own winery at the château. Max's children and grandchildren now manage the estate's 23 hectares, 80% of which are planted with Pinot Noir on Premier and Grand Cru terroirs in the Montagne de Reims. The estate's cuvées benefit from long aging on lees, averaging nearly 8 years.
