Winery presentation by Gault&Millau
Founded in 1936 by Gabriel and Juliette Meffre in Gigondas, Maison Gabriel Meffre grew rapidly thanks to a solid sales organization. Until the 1980s, Gabriel Meffre developed a vast vineyard in the Rhône Valley and Provence, reaching 800 hectares and becoming France's leading AOC producer. After his death in 1987, his children refocused the business on the estates. The company continued to export, acquiring the Domaine de Longue Toque in 1999, certified Terra Vitis in 2001 and committed to organic farming since 2017.
