Gault&Millau's review
Emmanuel Darnaud has been running an estate in La Roche-de-Glun, Drôme, since 2001. His vines are in the Crozes-Hermitage appellation. He started with just 1.5 hectares of vines, then gradually expanded to reach his current total of 15 hectares planted on alluvial soils composed of rolled pebbles and brown clay. Emmanuel Darnaud gained valuable experience working alongside his father-in-law, Bernard Faurie, a renowned winemaker and Hermitage specialist. This collaboration has enabled him to perfect his sense of detail, both in the management of his vines and in winemaking. Since 2023, the estate has been certified organic.
