Winery presentation by Gault&Millau
In 1870, Eugène Neau, a winegrower from Saint-Cyr-en-Bourg, acquired a former seigneurial estate in the commune of Bellevigne-les-Châteaux to expand his vineyard. The 4th generation of the Neau family thus settled at Domaine de Nerleux. Amélie Neau, representing the 10th generation, took over the estate in 2010. She is the driving force behind the conversion of the vines to organic production, with the aim of obtaining certification in 2022. Hedgerows have been replanted in certain plots to enhance biodiversity. The 28 hectares of vines are planted on tuffeau, the limestone of the Loire châteaux and a typical terroir of the Saumur-Champigny appellation. The estate welcomes visitors for a wide range of activities (tours, tastings, escape game...) and also offers a gîte for overnight stays.
