Winery presentation by Gault&Millau
Château Meyre benefits from a remarkable terroir composed of Quaternary gravel, sand, silt, and clay—ideal for producing high-quality wine. The estate spans just under 20 hectares, mostly in the Haut-Médoc, with a few plots in the prestigious Margaux terroir. With a longstanding commitment to environmental stewardship, the estate began limiting the use of inputs as early as the 1980s and converted the entire vineyard to organic farming, achieving certification in 2011. Thanks to the expertise of its teams, the wines are meticulously crafted in the cellar and were awarded the “cru bourgeois supérieur” designation in 2020. The château also features a hotel with nine rooms and offers a wide range of wine tourism activities.
