Gault&Millau's review
The Monmarthe family have owned farmland and vineyards in Ludes since 1737, and began their champagne adventure in 1930. Over the generations, the company grew and expanded, modernized and developed new markets in France and abroad. The 17-hectare vineyard is entirely located in Ludes, a premier cru on the Reims mountain, and is divided into 22 parcels. Jean-Guy Monmarthe, the sixth generation of winegrowers, runs the company and preserves this exceptional terroir with Gauthier (seventh generation), who intends to continue the fine path traced by his ancestors.
