Winery presentation by Gault&Millau
The Monmarthe family embarked on their champagne journey in 1930. Over the generations, the house has grown, expanded, and modernized. The 17-hectare vineyard, located primarily in Ludes, is divided into 25 plots, distributed almost equally among the three main grape varieties (Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Meunier). Jean-Guy Monmarthe, a sixth-generation winemaker, leads the house and preserves this exceptional terroir alongside Gauthier (seventh generation). Together, they craft blended champagnes and single-vineyard champagnes that showcase the terroirs of Ludes in the Montagne de Reims.
