Gault&Millau's review 2025

Just off the D820 (ex N20), 20 minutes north of Cahors, this derelict former roadside service station was taken over a few years ago by Alexandre (front of house) and Florent (kitchen), one from the Quercy region, the other from Provence, hence the name.... They have refurbished the place to make it the most desirable in the area, with a vast panoramic terrace. They add their kindness, energy and passion, and their success is well-deserved. A fine chef's hat for these dishes, not too elaborate, but prepared with sincerity (and the fries are excellent!): Asian ravioli with vegetables and shrimp bisque, beef rump steak smoked with Provence herbs, aumônière of Caussenard lamb confit with sauvignon, parsley and tarragon jus, baby vegetables, Lotois pastis, vanilla ice cream. Small south-west cellar to accompany.
