Just north of Nevers, Dominique Gérard's restaurant is a safe bet for business people and well-informed locals alike. The dining room, with its parquet floor and discreet contemporary furniture, ensures a wise, mature atmosphere, while the cuisine delivers a well-calibrated, seasonal and fashionable taste of the market. We recommend the €34 menu, with its pan-seared wild prawns, grilled buckwheat hummus and artichoke salad, monkfish fillet, tandoori fennel, chicken jus and confit tomato, or saddle of Bourbonnais lamb stuffed with black olives and almonds.
