We can't help but feel affection for this somewhat mythical address, which has provided so many good times for generations of students and tourists alike. Polidor is a slice of Paris in a preserved setting, with its classics, now revisited and adapted to the 21st century: perfect egg and mushroom, onion soup, snails, beef bourguignon purée, duck parmentier with red wine... And there's always the weekly menu, with lentil sausage on Thursdays and black pudding with mashed potatoes on Mondays. The chocolate mousse is worthy of note, as is the choice of wines by the glass or classic pitcher at reasonable prices, drawn from a vast cellar.
