Gourmet Restaurant David Gallienne, a three-toque chef at the Jardin des Plumes a few hectometres away, is now in charge of the Musée des Impressionnismes restaurant, Oscar, which he and his team have extensively renovated and redecorated. The concept is very clever (a revisited traditional cuisine that appeals to everyone, including the many foreign tourists, a perfectly calibrated children's menu, very pretty plates with country-style motifs, large picture windows opening onto a terrace and greenery) and is bound to be a hit. First impressions are excellent, with a good Argenteuil soup, perfect egg and piaf seeds, a competition-quality bouchée à la reine and a Paris-Brest that's about average. The crêpes Suzette flambéed in the dining room are a hit, the divine chocolate mousse is a hit with young and old alike, the service is friendly and the cellar is accessible to all budgets.
