Barns has given way, on the pretty Place d'Assas, to a "real" Italian restaurant, which doesn't just toss out pizza. On the contrary, it's a modern family-run trattoria, with focaccia or antipasti to share, mushroom and gorgonzola risotto, a good lasagne bolognaise and béchamel, polpettes and escalope milanaise and gremolata. Italian wine by the glass and bottle.
