A seaside getaway? Nuala and Patrick have fallen for this former 1833 coaching inn on the old port. The interior, adorned with exposed stonework and wood panelling, is decorated with exceptional antiques in reference to sports, with herons hanging from the ceiling. Seafood has pride of place here: silver medal oysters at the Salon de l'Agriculture 2024 and fresh fish from the fish market, as well as salmon and red tuna smoked on site. Local delicacies are offered on a menu renewed twice a year, featuring seafood and Sardines de Saint Gilles in season. The restaurateurs, based in this lively part of town, sublimate French terroir, with high-quality meat in a traditional cuisine where the short circuit is through the local market gardener.
