On the banks of the Dordogne, with a breathtaking panoramic view of the Château de Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, this restaurant is a must if you want to discover Périgord cuisine. Since last February, it has been run by a very welcoming and passionate couple: Nadège, who takes great care of customers, and her husband Noël, a chef who prepares wonderful traditional dishes, partly in the open-plan kitchen, without forgetting to offer suggestions of the moment. Seasonality, as much local produce as possible, such as farmhouse Rocamadour or Valette's duck confit: you can sit back, relax and enjoy! Among the highlights of the Périgord menu are trout gravlax, demi-magret with red butter sauce and figs, and walnut cake with salted butter caramel and custard. Or why not try the "Black Périgord Burger", an irresistible creation: duck chopped steak, pan-fried foie gras, onion compote, fig sauce, ewe's milk cheese and home fries. Are you a vegetarian? You'll love the boletus and parmesan risotto prepared with vegetable broth, or the mimosa eggs with beet mousse... And other fresh salads in fine weather! Closed Sundays and Wednesday evenings outside peak season. Open all Easter weekends and every day during May bank holidays. Open 6/7 in July and 7/7 in August.
