Gault&Millau's review 2026

With a hundred years of history (it opened in 1925!), a privileged location a stone's throw from Place Wilson, a trusty sidewalk fishmonger, a long dining room, splendid art deco decor, touch-touch tables, a cheerful hubbub and friendly black-and-white waiters, this establishment is a veritable institution, catering 7 days a week (no reservations required) to Toulouse residents and tourists alike, who come here to find one of the city's few authentic brasseries. Fortunately, the latest management team continues the tradition with eclectic dishes: shellfish, escargots de Bourgogne, frogs' legs, grilled pigs' trotters, Dijon-style veal kidneys, cassoulet, sole meunière, grilled whole fish, spaghetti with prawns and scallops, the inevitable caramel flan, baba au rhum... Everything is good, in fact very good, in the classic style, not even revisited (don't miss the fries), generous, perfectly executed and fairly priced.
