Gault&Millau's review 2026

A luxury hotel in a 17thᵉ century convent in the heart of Vieux-Nice, flanked by a Bistrot des Serruriers with its carefully mottled decor, is bound to catch the eye. Chef Endy Lepage brings out the daily slate, where produce from the convent's kitchen garden flirts with angling and market finds. The plates, a little canaille, are "nissardisent" at the edges, pissaladière, mimosa eggs, rabbit terrine, sage gnocchi, filet of lean meat and artichoke sauce escorted by broccoli, then grilled pork belly and melting grenailles on a bed of mustard sauce. We finish with a return to basics with creamy rice pudding or crème caramel. The wine, inscribed on the mirror, reflects sommelier Agathe Szucka's vision: lively, vivacious, for all tastes and budgets. Léa Bourseau's service is far from rough, as she knows what she's doing. And since charity begins at home, the dish du jour solidaire (dish of the day) allows you to eat between €12 and €20, depending on your budget.
