Behind its discreet façade, Vingt 4 is almost invisible. Inside, the restaurant is packed! Full of local and tourist clientele, enjoying a camembert flambé with Calvados, a charcuterie board or generous bistro dishes. A good spot to make your lunchtime canteen. Stone walls, large wine posters, a wall of bottles facing the bar and high chairs, all contribute to a certain simple elegance. No tablecloths, but cloth napkins; everything is perfectly maintained and bright. The dishes are few in number, but executed with care: pork sauté with cider and homemade purée, monkfish with parsley butter and coconut beans with pata negra chorizo, duck breast with kumquat and gratin dauphinois, beef fillet with reduced jus and garlic confit... The wine list deserves attention, with nearly 50 references, including a good 40 wines by the glass at prices ranging from €4.50 to €15. They echo the prices of the menus, which are equally wise for lunch and dinner. This is a neighborhood bistro where everything is designed for pleasure: fresh produce, attentive service, controlled prices and quality wines. An address to remember, to return to again and again.
