Description

Would you like to spend some quality time in a restaurant overlooking the Charente in a friendly atmosphere? L'Estran, run by Mireille and Alain, is just the place! Both have a great sense of welcome and humor: they make jokes, they have fun and they eat well! The cuisine is traditional, using as much local produce as possible, particularly from the Ile d'Oléron. In addition to the classics (tartare au couteau, coq au vin, poule au pot...), we also serve a Carbonade Flamande. Specialties include eels à la persillade, frogs' legs, fried Joels, ceteaux, oysters and mussels. Everything is on the slate, with a workers' menu at lunchtime on weekdays and a more elaborate menu at weekends, served with wines from the Charente and Charente-Maritime regions. You can also relax at the bar, for a cocktail with or without alcohol. And enjoy an afternoon crêpe or waffle on the terrace. The establishment has disabled access, can be hired out for events and is pet-friendly
