Gault&Millau's review 2025

The restaurant overlooks the delightful little calanque of the vallon des Auffes and the picturesque fishermen's port. In the 50s, its founder, the magnificent Alphonse Mounier, spoke Pagnol fluently with his inimitable verve. Nowadays, even if the institutional dishes - fish soup, bouillabaisse, bourride and aïoli - can be found here, regulars are surprised to discover new dishes such as ceviche, tuna tataki and wagyu beef. The "bonne franquette" feel has been gentrified, with a pretty all-glass room and another on the second floor amidst frescoes of the sea. Service a little stuffy and prices soaring.
