Gault&Millau's review 2025

Tucked away in an unassuming neighborhood to the east of Rouen, this terrace is undoubtedly one of the most surprising in the Normandy capital. An ambitious project to take over the Saint-Nicaise church, the Ragnar is a protean adventure, initially a local brasserie, but in the future, in addition to the bar and terrace already open in summer, a boutique, a restaurant, a factory open to the public, a workshop - in short, a place to live in an exceptional setting and a unique atmosphere. From a terrace at the foot of the church, invisible from the street, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the stained-glass windows, backlit at nightfall, between the trees, an ancient statue and, overhead, garlands in the guinguette spirit. In the glass, the house offers eight cuvées ranging from the classic to the more inventive (Sour BPA, NEIPA, smoked brune...), and on the board, fine charcuterie from Roches Blanches and cheeses from the Pays de Bray. Friendly service.
